The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of the Namibian media and marketing landscape, understand the Namibian market, culture and subcultures in order to develop effective communication and engagement propositions for advertisers that will deliver on specific marketing objectives. You must be able to take creative, larger than life and often wild concepts and distill them into practical, logical, rational and reasonable project proposals, considering all costing, production and execution aspects involved. A background and interest in market research, consumer behaviour, media consumption and communication/marketing trends will be a tremendous advantage.
Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying requests for proposal (RFPs); attending strategy meetings.
Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; transmitting proposals.
Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organisation credentials.
Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.
Obtains approvals by reviewing proposal with key providers and project managers.
Accomplishes organisational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Coordinate with Account Executive and Concept Team to ensure the proposal meets all required elements as communicated.
Utilise meeting notes to develop the proposal outline and ensure proper assignment of the creation of sections of the proposal (i.e. Administrators, Sales, Documentation, etc.)
Coordinate company resources to support the development of proposals to meet customer requirements
Manage the tasks assigned to individual team members to ensure information is provided at or before agreed upon deadlines
Develop and edit content (acting as writer, contributor and editor)
Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the proposal process, supporting tools, templates, artifacts and knowledge management platform
Qualification in English, Literature, Journalism, Communications, Marketing
Ability to work effectively under general supervision with a wide degree of creativity and latitude
Must have a very strong/expert proficiency using MS Office or similar software (primarily word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Being skilled in graphics editing software will be an advantage
Excellent research skills
Ability to collaborate with others and meet tight deadlines
