
The Radio Traffic Operator is responsible for the seamless, faultless, consistent and continuous broadcasting of on-air radio content, to ensure that programming and especially advertisements air according to schedules and contracts. You will be responsible for the scheduling, logging and reporting of advertisements and promotions to Sales and Customer Relation Managers to convey to clients. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years experience working with an automated broadcast traffic system (familiarity with RCS system will be an advantage), the ability to learn new systems quickly, the ability to interpret and apply operating procedure manuals. You will need excellent time management skills, strong attention to detail, and high work standards and the ability to work independently and with a team.
Responsibilities
Manage logs for station. Create logs daily after playlist has been done. Monday and Weekend logs to be done on Friday
Schedule Ads on our radio traffic-billing system (Natural Log) and playout system (Zetta)
Generate and review daily program logs
Reconcile logs daily. Create, Print and File Recons
Accurately process production orders daily
Load all Ads, Programmes and Links as scheduled
Assist Account Executives and their clients to achieve 100% accuracy in their ad
rotation
Work with Production Department to ensure all audio is available and loaded
Prepare daily reports for sales, traffic and accounting
Basic clerical functions (filing, copying and document preparation)
Research and problem solve items related to Continuity and Production
Other tasks as assigned
Interfaces with Sales Management regarding inventory issues.
Collaborates with management, Account Executives and Sales Support to ensure commercial spots are executed in accordance with contract provisions
Plans and schedules to meet all require deadlines, (daily, weekly and monthly)
Resolves problems among Sales, Continuity, Programming, Traffic, and Accounting.
May require flexibility in work schedules
Ensure ongoing Playlist production in collaboration with Music Director
Compile Music Logs and send to Nascam on a monthly basis
Compile Programme Logs and send to providers on a monthly basis (eg.Ted Radio Hour)
Create hourly Clocks with Ad breaks, Specific Links and Music.
Ensure Programme editing is done and loaded as per deadline
Download, Load, Trim and schedule subscribed Programmes
Load and schedule all Promo Material at relevant times
Ensure efficiency of all hourly clocks. Weekdays, Evenings and Weekends specifically
Renew RCS License every 3 months or as needed
Housekeeping to be done in G-Selector once per week to ensure all operations in Zetta and G-Selector are active in RCS
Removing ads and links from system
Categorize Links
Playlist Scheduling
RCS Back-up on weekly basis
Ensure that 24 hour recording works at all times
Extracting recordings for Clients as requested by Sales department
Ensure efficient running of all computers needed to broadcast and stream at all times
Install and manage back-up broadcast recordings
Continued streaming (managing streaming hardware + applications)
Ensure in studio & broadcast sound quality at all times and report to Production Manager
